Flea Markets & Antique Stores
New England and the Seacoast have endless options for hunting down vintage home decor. See below for some favorites.
Favorite Local Vintage Shops
Brimfield just finished their July antiques show, so I thought this would be a good time to share some local destinations for finding excellent art and decor. From Portsmouth up into Maine and points west and south, here are a few places I consistently find great pieces, and have fun discovering historic relics:
By far one of my favorite destinations to hunt for interesting vases, fabric, metal work, rugs, paintings, and unique high quality antiques.
I went once last year, and found a stunning vintage quilt to hang on my living room wall. Outside is the usual mix of vendors and random things. Inside they have two galleries of curated, higher end furniture, rugs and decor. Not as vast as Brimfield, but the location is just as beautiful.
My favorite here is RS Butler’s Trading Co. in Northwood, NH. I found a sheepskin coat that fits me perfectly. They have tons of garden planters, vintage furniture and art in the back barn, and loads of vintage clothes in the front building. Careful not to step on the massive dog sleeping on the welcome mat!
Also on Rt 4 is Rustique Vintage Goods. Bridget and her pup do a great job curating cool old things and she refinishes furniture. Such a fun shop with good vibes. Multi dealer, and great prices.
My awesome neighbors Ryan and Adrienne. If you love all things teak or walnut, this is the place for you. They have an ever rotating collection of mid century furniture and art. They even import directly from Scandinavia. And restore and reupholster!
When I head to Vermont to see my niece, I always stop at this W. Lebanon NH antique store. Lots of different vendors, with a heavy focus on mid century furniture and garden items.
I am obsessed with this gallery. Everything in it leaves me in a state of wonder: Was it hand made recently? Pulled out of the earth or from the bottom of a pond? Stunning space and collection of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and antiques. Beautifully curated.
